Visa Procedure
On gaining admission to a college or university, the student must start with the visa formalities. Visa is a form of pre-entry clearance; it does not guarantee entry to the State. Immigration officers at point of entry are entitled to deny access and to question students regarding their bona fide.
- The basic requirements are:
- Valid passport number
- Date of issue and expiry of passport
- Date, place and mode of arrival in Ireland
- Letter from University/College indicating that they have been offered a place in a recognized educational establishment
- Letter indicating the source of funding to cover fees and maintenance
- Recent passport photographs
- Visa application fee.
